DIRECTOR'S NOTES

„You give loyalty, you'll get it back."
Tommy Lasorda – baseball player
„You receive what You give", we all know that expression. Me personally i could not agree more with that, thats why i feel connected with this project. Paraphrasing Tommy Lasorda – who put this rule into practice, while being successful baseball player - Love and loyalty which You give,You might receive, but this also leads us to huge gratitude. Gratitude evokes happiness, Gratitude is a gift to everyone, We can develop it simply by reflecting on the gifts that are yet ours. This reflections can be done for a minute, a day, or throughout a lifetime. Most people celebrate their birthday and holidays, but those who cultivate gratitude celebrate every day. It should be the part of life journey - „journey's made for You". This film should show the connection we can develop in ourselves, both giver and receiver inside us. Project should let appear those small things that in the end do make difference, because small thing in life do matter.
APPROACH
The intention is clear – it pays off to be loyal!
For this we will make a film full of super positive and real life pieces. We will show how important are feelings such as loyalty and gratitude. We will make our customers feel special because of that, because we do understand they needs. I believe we will reach our broad audience on a different level.
We will reach them when the scenes tell simple situations which we can all relate to, shot not to amaze but to share something with them. Goodwill, loving kindness to all these moments and people is our authenticity. We're doing a portrait of our people, reveal who they are in very few shots and because that is neither contrived or set-up, we can expect some really cool spontaneous action from our talents. So as you can understand, there's a part of my approach that's really grounded in the more realistic side of things but it never forgets how important the quality of our cinematic imagery must be.
THE FEEL
The feel of the film should reflect a natural and emotional journey that is also very personal. Showing the joy and privilege of being loyal and grateful. The scenes showed great emotions and should picture the special feeling of being Caltex loyal partner. This film is close up, personal, intimate and handheld. We are the fly on the fall.
THE LOOK
I would like this to be especially visually but also emotional attractive film.
The visual style of each vignette will be adapted to its essence, sometimes we will be smoother and more steady, a little drifting, at other times we will be conveying the bustle of a moment and therefore use the opposite approachTo catch the energy of the scene, we will try out more unconventional angles, higher, lower, skewed. We will show in a wide shot a Caltex Gas station, in case of a remote shooting we will use one of a Caltex Gas Station located in Thailand or Singapore.
TONE
We are going in the full direction of lifestyle and truthful moments, we want a realistic feel to our images, a spontaneity that only a style that only a really dynamic and intimate approach can capture. This approach lets us catch that one smile, that one gesture, that one look which will give our film a real sense of the moment.
CHARACTERS
They are on-screen because we are interested in them, because we love what they represent. Because we don't really want them to act or pretend. We just want them to be genuine and true.

For the casting choices, we don't want to overplay that part. Our cast should be believable, but they should have strong characters. Their presence and energy should lift the scenes slightly above reality.
LOCATION
The main objective is to find genuine, lively locations. They are nice and attractive, but truly real places, where could really live and work in. We want the viewer to connect with the location as its simply reachable.
