LOGISTICS
We are planning 1 shooting day in Tbilisi up to 18hours. It always looks more natural if we shoot on real locations, so for this TVC we recommend to choose such logistic.

According to the story we have such locations:
- Cheese cellar with 2 areas (cheese-making and storage)
- Modern cheese factory Lactalis (corridor and storage/degustation)
- Dining area in the house (as we agreed to move the scene from outside to interior) Some location references from our base you can find below
We consider to use real Lactalis factory, so we will arrange the suitable time when our location manager can visit the location, take pictures of proper areas. After that we will have director’s scout on the factory location, so director together with DOP can select the angles we need. And third time we will need the opportunity for a short visit the factory before – is technical recce, where heads of main departments are checking the locations and discuss all technical requirement we need to make the shooting happen. But we can do it without interrupting factory processes.
We’ll start our shift from factory, as maybe, we’ll need to shoot it at night or early morning. We know that we might need to plan the shooting in nonworking hours, not to distract the employees while they are working. We can come back to that on later stages of preproduction.
Then we’ll move to family interior to shoot in with good natural light and as this is very important scene.
And after that we can move to our old-times cheese manufacturing place, as we don’t depend here from working hours or sunlight.
Family gathering should look warm and joyful. We assume that it is grandparent’s house and this is traditional dinner for all the family. As we agreed, it will be better to shoot this scene inside, instead of backyard. We understand how important is to show sunny ambiance in TVC, so in terms of winter conditions we can recommend to find a cozy dining room in a house with big windows. We will see the sunny atmosphere throw the window, as we’ll add some greenery behind window and to fill the frame with sunlight. The table will be set with delicious traditional Georgian meals.
Cheese cellar of 1970 should be dressed with props of that time. Victor Maslyaev is so inspired with the story, so he would like to fill the location with some authentic props, that maybe will be even gathered from old Georgian villages. In this location we have two scenes – old craft cheese production and cheese storage that our art department will decorate and fill with proper props.
LOCATIONS
Cheese Cellar (1970-80s)
House Interior
ART DEPARTMENT
As for the Art direction part, as we wrote above traditions are very important in this story. So we’ll dress the chesse cellar and house with old authentic props that has their own history.
CHEESE CELLAR

We are going to dress the locations with old furniture 70-80s (table, chairs, kitchen board, a big cheese vat with a liquid look like cheese-making process and some other props). Seems we will need to construct 4 shelves and to fill it in with some rounded props wrapped in paper or wax paper/textile.

MODERN CHEESE FACTORY LACTALIS

As we are going to shoot on real location we will not need some small props as kitchen boards for cheese degustation, frame for the photo ect.

DINING ROOM

We need big dining table, table cloth, plates and glasses/cups, cutlery. The food stylist will cook delicious traditional Georgian dishes.

As we shoot in winter, we assume to add some greenery outside to make feel of warm season.

To optimise the shooting time our art department team will be working simultaneously on two locations. While we are filming at the factory, the set dressers are already preparing the home location.

And when we shoot at home, they are working in cheese cellar.

FOODSTYLE

Cheese and foodstyle is the most important in this movie. We expect that the Client will provide heads of cheese of all types we need to show In the commercial. Our food stylist will show cheese in the best and a tasty way.

We will propose traditional dishes that will look delicious and mouth-watering. And of course most of them will include cheese in the recipe.

To ensure that our dishes will look appetizing and delicious, we plan to conduct tests and prepare approved dishes before shoot. This way, we will have a clear understanding of how the dishes will look, saving us production time.

Consumption shots should look enjoyable to make the viewer a wish to taste it.

On packshot we will see several types of sliced delicious cheese and the main product – cheese Sanebo!

CASTING
The most important task for casting is to find our grandfather actor: a man aged 60 or above who resembles the brand hero from the logo. We are looking for someone with kind eyes, an open smile, and sincere emotions. Additionally, there is a significant role for his older son, who not only needs to resemble his father to establish a familial connection but also must express emotions similar to his father, demonstrating care and honorable feelings, especially towards cheese.

It is vital to find the right secondary actors, including an 8-10-year-old boy and girl, a 30-35-year-old man and woman, and a 60+ years grandma, who collectively embody the essence of a family alongside the main hero. Overall, all actors should harmonize, creating the impression that they are one cohesive and close-knit family. All of them have to be professional actors.
To achieve this, we will conduct 2-3 waves of casting, followed by a one-day callback.

We don’t recommend to use make-up to change the appearance of the actor in this case.
If we shoot the same actor in the first part and in the end with some slight difference – it could confuse the viewer in such short movie who he is. If we have to change the appearance from young to old man – we need to change him a lot and to make the silicon mask, and it required more days for preproduction and not a cheap solution.

If you have other preferences for the team, we will be happy to work with them if they are available for the shooting dates.
Man (30-35)
Grandpa (60+)
Grandma (60+)
Son (8-10)
Daughter (8-10)
Wife (30-35)
STYLE
The wardrobe for Father in the cheese cellar should match the time period. In this scene, during the cheese-making process, is it crucial to add not only old time feeling but to keep sanitary rules, so the main actor should have this head covered, maybe gloves TBD.

For the factory scene, the main character, Son, will be attired in a white shirt, apron, trousers, and a cap on his head.
Regarding the scene in the backyard. As the shooting is planned in February and it is not enough warm for kids outside that time to be dressed in summer clothes. So we assume to dress kids like for mid of autumn/spring. A long-sleeved shirt and pants or jeans for the boy and a long-sleeved dress for the girl. Of course we will cover all of the actors with blanket and keep them warm in the house when we are not shooting them. All of the actors will be dressed simple home-casual in this scene (but without old clothes with holes and stains etc).

We plan to buy/rent all cloth and avoid sewing. But maybe we’ll need it for first scenes for Father, TBD later.
POST & SOUND
We plan to shoot all on real location so we don’t need much of postproduction. For the post tasks for this project, we included the following standard scope of work:
- editing
- color correction
- small retouching where necessary
- add a logo to each frame and packshot
- animating logo and the slogan on packshot.
- adding legals info
- mastering videos for channels

As we understood from the storyboard we have to use the same pictures and locations for the photo in the frame, that our hero hanging on the wall in the factory and 2 photos on the packshot. So, what we might need - is to implement pictures for this on postproduction.
As for sound, it is also very important to create the general atmosphere that fit the story. Right music can help as to create light and optimistic atmosphere. We are going to compose the music, that will give the video its individuality and unique style. We don’t recommend to use much sound design for this video as it will distract from VO. Maybe just a little sounds of the environment, cutting cheese, factory sound if needed.

VO also will be important part of our video, because it is the voice of our character and he is telling us this wonderful story. So it is quite important that the voice matches with the actor’s appearance and to be in harmony with him and the story. We’ll cast man voice around 30-35, not classy VO, but warm and pleasant voice.

For now we included works for 20sec and cutdown from it 10 sec for digital (vertical and Horizontal).
We expect that logo together with font will be provided by client.
