Vimeo Channels
There are two separate channels: one for main projects and the other for MOF videos.
The task is to monitor and be aware of all videos being filmed, and to collect the source files by uploading them to the channels.
The source file for TV should not be uploaded to Vimeo. It’s better to ask the post-production team for a YouTube or Vimeo version—they know this is the optimal format for HD channels.
In the video description, list the production company, director, and cinematographer. You can also adjust the privacy settings—if the video isn’t live yet, set it to Private. The Unlisted setting can be used for videos that won’t appear on your profile but can be viewed by anyone with the link.
Also, by default, the option for everyone to download videos from our channel in their original quality is now enabled. This is very convenient because if someone in a group or elsewhere asks for a link to download a video, this is our Vimeo link.
If someone doesn’t see the Download button below the video, check to make sure the blue checkmark is selected—see below.
Another important detail is to rate the video. This is a required setting; without it, the video may not play in some countries.
Creating themed reels—showcases on Vimeo.
Using a Vimeo channel, you can collect videos under a single link, organizing them into a themed reel. Example:
https://vimeo.com/showcase/9412117To create a new reel, click on “Showcases” on the left and then “Add New.”
In the new showcase, add a title and description, then click the plus sign on the right to add the desired videos. Save. Share the link. It’s all very simple.
